Local SEO / Google Maps

Local SEO for chiropractors: be one of the three on the map

When someone nearby searches for a chiropractor, Google shows three practices on a map before anything else. We work on the things that decide which three: your Google Business Profile, your listings, your reviews and the pages behind them.

How the map decides

Relevance, distance, prominence: what you can move and what you can't

Google says its local results rest on three things. Here is what each one means for a chiropractic office, and where search work changes the level.

Relevance

Does your profile match the search? Primary category, services, description and the website it links to. Mostly in your hands.

Distance

How far the searcher is from your door. Nobody can change it, and nobody should fake it with a virtual office.

Prominence

How well known the practice is: reviews, consistent listings, links and mentions around the web. It builds month by month.

Which of the three is holding your office back? The free review looks at your profile against the practices above you.

Google Business Profile

Your Google Business Profile, set up to the rules

The profile is the first thing a patient sees and the strongest local signal you control. We go through it field by field:

  • Categories. Chiropractor as the primary category. Secondary categories only for services the office really offers, such as massage therapy when a licensed therapist works there.
  • Name. Your real-world name as it appears on your sign. Adding "best" or a town name to it is against Google's guidelines and a common reason profiles get suspended.
  • Hours. Regular, special and holiday hours, so "open now" and "open Saturday" searches see you correctly.
  • Services and description. Written the way patients search, without outcome claims.
  • Photos. The entrance, parking, front desk and rooms. Never patients without written authorization.
  • Booking link. Straight to your scheduler, tagged so you can see which bookings came from the profile.

Doctors get listings too

Google allows profiles for individual practitioners. A solo doctor who is the face of the practice usually shares one profile with it; a group practice can have a profile for the office and one per doctor. When an associate leaves, we deal with the listing so patients aren't sent to someone who isn't there.

Citations: one name, one address, one phone

Health directories, insurance directories, map apps and general listings all repeat your details, and Google compares them. A practice that moved in 2019, changed its phone in 2022 and lost an associate in 2024 usually has three versions of itself online.

We find them, correct what can be corrected, merge or close duplicates, and build the listings that are missing. Insurance directories often update only through the insurer's provider portal, so we tell you exactly which ones need your office manager.

Reviews, within Google's policy and HIPAA

Reviews feed prominence, and they are what a patient reads before calling. Two rules shape how a practice gets them:

  • Google's policy: ask every patient the same way. Asking only happy patients (gating) and offering anything in return are both against it.
  • HIPAA: a public reply that confirms someone is a patient can be a disclosure, even when they posted first. HHS has taken enforcement action against providers over review replies.

So the review work in every package is a request process for your front desk and reply wording that is warm and confirms nothing. Your staff sends the requests; we never contact patients.

Local SEO packages

Local SEO pricing for chiropractic offices

The profile, citation and review work is the same in every package. What grows from Silver to Titanium is the number of searches we target and the links that make the practice known.

Several offices, one brand

Each staffed office gets its own profile and its own page on your website with real details: the doctors there, its hours, parking, how to get there. Pages that only swap the town name don't help and can hurt. Reviews stay with the office they were left for, so each location builds its own.

The closest result we can show for this is not a practice: a California window tinting company reached page one across dozens of cities with one page per city, each written for that city.

Opening, moving or going mobile

A new office can show an opening date on its profile before day one. A move needs the address changed on the profile and on every listing, then redirects if any page URLs change. A house-call or mobile practice sets a service area and hides the address. Each of these is a few hours of careful work, and each goes wrong often.

Local search is one part of a plan; our chiropractic marketing page shows how it fits with your website, referrals and content.

Local SEO questions from practice owners

What is local SEO for a chiropractor?

It is the work that decides whether your office appears in the map results when someone nearby searches for a chiropractor: your Google Business Profile, the consistency of your name, address and phone across listings, your reviews, and the pages on your website that back the profile up.

How much should a practice pay for local SEO?

Ours runs from $125 to $575 a month depending on how many keywords and links you need, and every package includes the profile, citation and review work. Whatever you pay anyone, ask for a list of what gets done each month and a report you can check line by line.

Should each doctor in the practice have a Google profile?

Google allows profiles for individual practitioners who are public-facing and can be reached at the office during stated hours. A solo doctor who is the face of the practice should usually have one shared profile that names both. When an associate leaves, the listing needs handling, not ignoring. We set this up to Google's guidelines.

Can we rank in towns where we have no office?

The map ranks real locations by distance among other things, so a storefront practice mostly shows near its address. Your website can still earn organic rankings for nearby towns when a page has something real to say about serving them. We won't set up virtual offices: Google doesn't allow them without staff.

Do you ask our patients for reviews?

We give your front desk a process to ask every patient the same way, which is what Google's policy requires (no gating, no incentives), and reply wording that never confirms anyone is a patient. Your staff sends the requests; we never contact patients.

We have two offices. Is that one package or two?

One package covers one website, and Platinum covers two. Two offices on one website share a package, with one profile and one page per office. If each office has its own website, Platinum or Titanium fits better.

Where does your office show on the map today?

Send your website and email. We look at your profile and the three practices that show above you, and email a written review within one business day.
